A few days back I came across this while researching on banana flowers at work.
"苞片，其实并不是花的一部分，而是一种变态的叶子"
Heh heh. Bian tai leaves.
Of course what the sentence actually means is bracts are modified leaves.
Still, I couldn't help but imagine perverted little leaves walking around flashing their...hmmm... leaf stalks?
