Stream Of Life
2009年9月26日 星期六

A beautiful song, and a beautiful poem to match.
The words are different, but the essence the same.

The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day
runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.

It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth
in numberless blades of grass
and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers.

It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth
and of death, in ebb and in flow.

I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life.
And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment.
-Rabindranath Tagore-

Lisey's Story
2009年9月8日 星期二

"Lisey turned on the radio, and wasn't a bit surprised to get ole Hank singing "Honky Tonkin." She sang along, low. She knew every word. This did not surprise her, either. Some things you never forgot. She had come to believe that the very things the practical world dismissed as ephemera - things like songs and moonlight and kisses - were sometimes the things that lasted the longest. They might be foolish, but they defied forgetting.
And that was good.
That was good."

Lisey's Story
